Dr. Derek Lines

Dr. Derek Lines is a proud, born-and-raised Albuquerque guy. After graduating from the Albuquerque Academy, he ventured out of state for his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. Then he graduated from dental school at the University of Southern California.

He then had the honor of serving in the United States Navy as a dental officer, with most of that time spent overseas in Japan. He returned to Albuquerque in 2005 and has been in private dental practice ever since.

The most important things in Dr. Lines’ life are his faith, family, and friends.

His faith motivates him to use his dental skills to help others in need. He has volunteered hundreds of hours and donated tens of thousands of dollars to the New Mexico Mission of Mercy, Donated Dental, Global Dental Relief, Catholic Refugee relief effort, Albuquerque Public Schools, and the Albuquerque S.A.F.E. house for victims of domestic violence, among others.

Dr. Lines feels so blessed to have married his college sweetheart Kristine. They have five children, and Dr. Lines can often be found at their concerts, games and performances. Dr. Lines enjoys creating a family atmosphere at Legacy Dental. He counts all his patients as friends and treats them with the same care he would a close family member.

Dr. Lines has received numerous honors and awards. After graduation from dental school, he completed the rigorous Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. As a U.S. Naval dental officer, he was humbled to receive the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Dr. Lines has been consistently recognized by his fellow dentists in Albuquerque Magazine as one of the city’s top dentists for the past decade. He was awarded the prestigious Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry marking his commitment to continuing education and advanced dental training. Dr. Lines has also been recognized by America’s Top Professionals, the DOCS organization, and Breakaway Practices for his commitment to the highest standards of dental care.
